Mason's birthday was pretty low key this year. He went skiing the weekend before with friends and went to a stake dance as well. So he was able to spend some time with friends. The rest of the celebration was a family affair.
We celebrated Mason's birthday the day before the fact, as Wednesdays are crazy around here (and the morning after his birthday he had to be at the high school at 5am for his NYC band trip). We went to dinner at Zombie Burger ( a local hot spot downtown with crazy burgers and awesome fries and milkshakes), then we went home for presents. That night there was a BYU basketball game, so we had friends over to watch and eat cake.
Mason has grown up a lot over the last year. He has passed me in height, has bigger feet than his dad, and with his permit, is becoming my chauffeur. Mason is funny, responsible, intelligent, he can roll with change, and he even gives me hugs in public. He transitioned into high school and back to life in the US with such confidence and ease. I love this kid so much. He made me a mom and a proud mom at that. Happy Birthday Littleguy!
