Camping with Friends

So the weekend after Valparaiso and the weekend before Drew's birthday we went camping with our great friends the Lamberts.  Mark had to work late and Easton had swim lessons, so they stayed home and had a special night together.  The rest of us headed south in the mountains near San Jose del Maipo for a night of camping and an experience we laugh about, though we were not laughing at the time.

We set up camp with no one around right next to the River Maipo and enjoyed an afternoon of kids playing and visiting, then dinner, and s'mores.  And then the college students (or at least that age) started arriving and kept arriving and then the partying and then the bongo drums and instruments and then they didn't stop the music, alcohol, and weed until about 7am.  It was an experience.  And now we know why you pay to stay in the more expensive campsites.  Live and learn.  However, we enjoyed a morning together and overall it was a good time for all (a little sleep would have made it a bit better).

It's fun to read up on your adventures! Glad you're doing so well. Happy birthday to you, and to Drew!

Oh my goodness - that is hysterical! My motto while living here, "It's always an Adventure!" Because it IS!
