Pinewood Derby 2014 and a Bear

Drew participated in the Pinewood Derby in May with his scout pack.  His car looked great.  I was a little worried because I helped him with part of it and even though this was the 10th car built in our home, it was the only one I supervised.  But he did a super job and it turned out well.  He didn't win, but he didn't lose, so all was well.

Drew also received his Bear badge.  It has been fun (and challenging) being the Bears leader.  I have had the chance to work with these boys for the past two years and have truly enjoyed them.  And I have the best assistant since she is one of my greatest friends.

When they receive their badge, they get the face paint stripes in the color that the badge is.  So green stripes for getting his Bear badge.  He also got a couple of belt loops and beads.
Drew's is the one on the far right.  He came in second in this run.
And this cute little car was a car Easton made at home alongside Drew.  Drew actually helped him make it.  And it met weight too.  They made it out of a toothpaste box.  With coins inside and a lego motor.  Easton ran it on the track twice and was thrilled.
Dallin was also with us.  He helped at the starting gate.  You can just barely see him hidden behind one of his favorite teachers, Mr. Hendershott.  Grandma Morning also came, but for no pics.  Grandpa didn't feel very well so he and Mason hung out at home.
